Its not that I had a good childhood, a lot of it sucked. What I miss is the intensity of experience. As I have gotten older I have gotten really numb. I dont really feel very affected by stuff anymore negative or positive. Its like a part of my soul is missing. What I remember about childhood is an intensity of experiences. The little things were so significant, food tasted better and worse, the physical aesthetics of things both awed and even frightened me, I remember feeling angry, sad and scared. I don't experience this anymore. Food taste like ashes and dirt everything looks faded and dark and I feel detached and emotionless like a walking ghost. Can anyone relate? Is this a sign I am becoming schizophrenic?
