Earlier this year I made a suggestion stating a pretty simple fix: non registered users/lurkers shouldn’t be able able to use the search feature to comb through user posts/history on this site

Pretty straightforward. BP content has boomed in popularity and many people have been linking back to this site. Lurkers shouldn’t be able to freely and easily dig up old posts from users here. It’s a privacy nightmare.

Yet for some reason this change was never implemented

Now with the whole Clavicular debacle there are YouTubers like Turkey Tom are making hit pieces and 50% of his video is him on .org, using this feature to backtrack Posts from users in order to make YouTube videos that will net 1 million + views



@Master please for the love of God implement this change before it gets worse.

It’s a baseline of accessibility. The ratio of users to lurkers is currently 1:15 that’s ridiculous. Also it’s unlikely he would even know that’s a feature just looking at the UI.
