You can't outrun in so start going for an object you can use to defend yourself.

Something to put between you and then dog.

If you don't have anything you can use to stab or slash the bastard before he bites you try to kick him or use legs to create distance

If you end up falling keep using legs to have distance and protect you vitals

And as a last resort once he bites try and break his neck

Otherwise a pocket knife that can be easily deployed for stabbing would help you a lot. Do it only if it's legal and you have permit
