I'd understand if it was a clan or the large churches, but it's 100% not the government. They may be aiding the cause, but, that is completely arbitrary.

Kind of makes sense but god has been talked about since the beginning of time although god has been weaponised by the wealthy to prevent the poor from uprising many times the promise of an afterlife where there’s no suffering and the fact that Jesus wasn’t rich is very attractive to peasants and those who are dead poor

Complete misreading of the biblical narrative.

The beatitudes aren't a rejection of being fruitful. It's a paradigm shift.

Christians are still expected to work hard and create wealth for themselves, their family, and their community.

Not everyone is called to a monastic lifestyle.
