We often hear to get survey or to get implants but no one ever tells you which is one is best and better for you long term
SILICONE
Often the cheapest and most popular when it comes to facial implants, silicone is actually the worse one to pick. Silicone is the highest in bone absorption, most likely to migrate through the face. It doesn’t integrate in your body at all and your body sees it as a foreign object. Silicone as a whole should be avoided for facial implants.
HYDROXYAPATITE
This is probably going to be the best custom facial implant. Now the biggest way this differs from something like silicone is how it fuses with your bone. This is a bone like implant and it mimics your bones and fuses with it. The only problem with the option is if you have any infection or problem by which you need to remove it it’s going to be very difficult. Often people avoid this material just for this reason.
TITANIUM
This is a very popular material for implants and it is very sought after. Very thin very strong material. It’s somewhere in the middle in terms of integration with the bone but it doesn’t integrate as good as hydroxyapatite.
MEDPOR
This does not fuse with the bone. It is tissue and growth. Very hard to remove similar to hydroxyapatite.
Honestly at the end of the day they are all good options and most of the time when doing its job they are all going to look the same. Just make sure the place where you get your implants is regulated and hygienic
