What Is Actually Average? (MTN vs LTN Confusion in Ratings)

I keep running into the same issue over and over again in this space, and the inconsistency is starting to make the entire rating system feel unstable.

Different people within the looksmax/blackpill community are giving completely different answers to what “average” even is. Some say MTN (mid-tier normie) is average, others say LTN (low-tier normie) is average. That’s not a small disagreement. That’s an entire category shift.

So which one is it?

If we’re talking about a true statistical “average”.

It also creates confusion around adjacent labels:

• What actually qualifies someone as a Chadlite vs just a high-tier normie?
• Where is the real cutoff between HTN and Chadlite?
• Are people rating based on facial harmony, sexual dimorphism, or just subjective impression?

Right now it feels like everyone is using the same words but operating on completely different internal scales.

So I’m trying to pin this down more rigorously:

1. What do you consider the true “average” (median) in the general population, LTN or MTN?
2. What objective traits (bone structure, ratios, etc.) define that midpoint?
3. Where do you personally draw the line between HTN and Chadlite?
4. Are most people here rating based on real-life populations or distorted environments (apps, curated spaces, etc.)?

Because without a shared baseline, all of these categories start to collapse into pure subjectivity.

Curious to hear how people here are actually defining these tiers in a consistent way.

the average is 100% ltn. mtn isn’t bad looking or ‘average’ it’s above it (unless your lmtn in which case that’s basically the same as hltn), i’ve never understood why ppl use mtn as an insult because it’s not . ltn is way more common if you go into a busy street than mtn.

The wording confused me, because "tn" is "tier of the normies", and "l" is "low", so its basically saying "the lower tier of normies" in my head, which means below average of the normal people around us. Whats the PSL numerical rating of LTN vs MTN then?

ratings are always weird and people are not objective, they tend to be emotional about it.

I saw users claiming that some HMTN was the average dude

Understandable! Funny, most consistent answer ive see has been hltn, whys that though?

because LTN would be usually some obvious below average dude who'd get called ugly by most people, while HLTN would be considered a "normal guy you see on the street"

MTN even if it sounds like is average, actually is someone who literally is "mid", which would be a little above average but without being considered attractive by most people
