When someone says ethnic it always comes to me vrry broadly, like, what.. is that..? exactly? Is it south american, indian, asian, arab? Countries in specific?

its usually said to generally any brown people, mexicans, arabs, indians. but broadly means any non white. I've seen people say black isnt ethnic or whatever or that south east asians arent etc but idk
