What is it a skullcap and why flat is better than round.

I realise that @Won'tStopNoodling use that term to describe gay alien skulls but I don't understand what is it.
Can someone explain this(besides him)
Also some examples would be great to understand.

Skullcap is top of the head not back. Also this photo prove me that warrior skull isn't enough to look good.
