It's cause his chin isn't as recessed as the girls. Notice the curve on the end of his chin and her flat one. He's also dropping his hyoid in pic 2.
Also i just realised but notice how hard the girl is frauding her jaw projection here.

If she stood up with her head and back straight she'd have a hard double chin. Her jaw is quite recessed.
