Back in the 1980s and 90s it was Silicon Valley, CA, roughly speaking cities of San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and Cupertino. Way more young men would move there than young women. It is not that bad now, more women and more asians than then.

In 2025 US almost every non big city or college town has a shortage of women. Attractive young women love to congregate near expensive colleges and near glamor and power centers. These areas are always very expensive, but the women make good money (supply/demand) so they can afford to live there, and they are willing to live in smaller and more crowded apartments than men are.
