She doesn't want to listen because 1) she's a woman, 2) she thinks she knows best when she absolutely doesn't, and 3) how you word it.

She can not override a dentist referral. Do you go to the dentist? Have they not commented on any of it? Get full scans and imaging done. You should be able to get in touch with an Orthodontist pretty soon afterwards.
