What is outside the universe

Think about it. I think it is unlikely that the universe is infinite, even if there stops being matter at a certain point because that would mean there is just infinite emptiness and I feel like there has to be a limit to everything. But then if there is a limit then what is there outside of that limit? More emptiness? Then that would mean it actually is still infinite. Maybe we are all living in a simulation because to be honest the universe existing doesn’t make any sense.

I've heard a theory it curves in on itself kinda like a sphere so there is no actual edge you can reach. But outside of that I'd guess literally nothing, no time or space since a lot of parts of the universe has very little matter which is hard to think about

The universe is considered flat so traveling in a straight line won’t have you eventually wrap around like walking straight on earth does.

Truly a mystery as to what is beyond the universe which makes me think reality is stranger than fiction.
