To elaborate, what is the bad part of mouth breathing that causes recessing?
Is the recessment caused by bad tongue posture, bite when mouth breathing, actually breathing using your mouth, all of these or something not mentioned?

the reason im asking is because i recently got a reviv mouthguard (r1) and its more comfortable to breath with my mouth even if I have a mouthguard in and if im breathing with my mouth im recessing or badly effecting my facial asthetics.
this may seem low iq but im kinda confused because nb really talks about this

mix of bite+tongue posture

the breathing through your mouth probably smells tho :lul:

it's bad because you have low tongue posture when you mouth breathe your lips are open and then if u also have bad head posture for years this is how it starts

reviv guard won't ruin our face unless you're wide open drooling all night long like a zomboid

your tongue being in a bad position exerts a force in your bones which makes the maxilla and mandible shift downward

Mouth breathing will give you hypoxia which stunts your growth

Well chronic mouth breathing dries the oral cavity, worsens sleep quality, increases infection risk, and in growing individuals can negatively affect facial development so if u don't have to mouth breathe don't do it just nose breathe 24/7

Because people confuse cause and effect, mouth breathing is a consequence of wisdom teeth removal or using something that you use

hey can you elaborate on that rq im curious
Basically mouth breathing won’t give you sufficient oxygen which then means the growth pathways down regulate and you grow less. This is why thousands of years ago when there was more oxygen in the atmosphere everything alive was bigger
