Democracy where only people who contribute via taxes can vote. Basically contributors to society, I don't think some bum should get a vote.

Democracy where only highly educated people can vote.
That's not democracy. That is Geniocracy.

Democracy is when everyone has a vote.

I don't give a shit about your made up words. Do we suddenly not live in a democracy because there is a minimum age?

Are we living in a oldocracy?

Ideal for a successful nation, however I would not want to live in one myself as a civilian.

I always liked the thought of a one party state. It doesn't have all the setbacks of democracy where shit is just smoke and mirrors.

Too bad it has it's own drawbacks.

Ofc like any other political system but it is much better than democracy. If you notice the period when most nations had the the most progress was under some form of authoritarian system where voting rights were limited to non existent.

define 'successful nation'

Dictatorships only make a 'successful' nation when you're thinking in terms of hoi4 or some shit. Even that is questionable as Rome expanded into a massive state when they were a republic, they stagnated when they became an empire.

Britain is a constitutional monarchy and they became the biggest empire that has ever existed.

I doubt it. Totalitarianism hinders progress with it's bloated nature.

America, England, etc became gigantic economic and scientific powerhouses because of their belief in the enlightenment and liberty.

Obviously just letting ANYONE is a bad idea as shown by all the candybar salesmen being elected. Let people wo pay taxes/military service decide government leaders and policy.

Not all totalitarian states are equal. China's success has less too do with the governments structure, and more with the improved economic policy and East Asian cultural traits and society

I see where you are coming from and I'll have to further think about this. You mentioned a system where only the educated vote which I would lean more towards because most people don't know enough about who the government and politics work to make desicons on who is leading. Ofc it is only fair if you say taxes you also have a say inn who leads so this is where I get conflicted.

Candybar salesmen is what I think is destroying America along with other factors. Americans seem to be voting for anybody that makes big promises but can't back it up.

Yeah, technocracy is pretty much just rule of the specialists right?

I just think being able to vote should be earned in some way not a right.

Military service, superior intellect, financial contributor etc.

That I agree on. I defintity do not think anybody and everubody should be choosing who leads. The ability to choose who leads is privilege not an innate right. Sometimes I don't even think I am suited for voting just because I don't know that much about how the government or how geopolitics work. With that being said I don't think I would be making the best decision when it comes to choosing a leader.

But overall I do think technocracy is the way just because when you have people who know about finance, geopolitics, military, public relations, education, technology etc making decisions for who leads I feel like the country would be way better off.

Hmm I agree. Leadership should be given to the specialized, even as just an experiment, I'm sure such a system would work alright.

It would definitely be an interesting experiment. I am sure it would work mush better than whatever we have here in the angloshpere though. Trudeau isn't that bad but he definitely isn't ideal. I would definitely vote him out if I know someone better is coming along. Can't speak for Australia's or New Zealand's leadership. But the disaster that is the US rn just lol. First a reality star now a barely competent old man that has pornstar son. I can't believe they actually choose him over Bernie over fear of socialism and Bernie is not even a socialist. And with the UK changing leaders like clothes.

I doubt America is even a democracy anymore. There is so much gerrymandering and cheating going on in the general election and during the candidate selection.

Australia (my country) has a power hungry elite. If it weren't for our extreme natural resource wealth, we would not be a first world nation.

I agree with that America is not a democracy. It is more like a corporate run land where large companies pick put the leaders. Basically an oligarchy.

Now I am curious about Australia's situation.

It's similar to America.

The Liberal party is fully in the hands of the coal and real-estate companies. Labor are better at hiding their corruption by a massive margin but both sides support anti democratic and inhumane policies. There was an anti lockdown protest a while back in the capital, the government used a radiation weapon. I'm not sure what it was but they used some microwave gun to fry people's skin.

Wtf a radiation weapon all over people voicing their opinion on something. That's actually crazy though. Didn't realize Australia has such a bad leadership. How bad do you think Australia would be without it's natural resources?

That's interesting. At least it won't have the Tyranny or that awful leader in charge of Russia. Have your seen that documentary that was made about him a year ago. It was crazy how material obsessed he is.

Oh yeah, about that mansion he has.

Yeah he's terrible, we're lucky Australia at least has a strong tradition of English law even if it's being degraded.

This video goes into how many spas and beauty centers he has. He is an extemrmly vain man. There is a other video on his plastic surgery that is botched but I'll need to find that.

There are English subtitles. I do know how to speak some Russian and it is always fun finding these videos.

Just maybe... Still found the video funny though.

All I've got to say is that channel is a goldmine for analyzing Putin if you are interested. Although you may need to translate. I know some Russian so that is how I find these things.

National Socialism
What do you mean by national socialism?

Small limited government with an unregulated market.
When Laissez-faire capitalism has reduced the planet to an uninhabitable husk, you will not be selected in the rigged lottery to win a seat on the billionaires' space station.
