My sister was tested with an IQ of 136. She’s a biology major and a left-wing activist, she goes to demos and cares strongly about social causes and politics.

My dad is an electrical engineer, and visited an elite university near Nuremberg. He’s extremely driven and performative, he doesn’t understand laziness and has a deep dislike for people who don’t work.

They look down on anyone they think isn’t smart enough.
They’re both unbearable to be around.

My IQ is probably significantly lower than theirs, likely because I was an extremely low-birth-weight baby who barely survived and then spent over a decade chronically sleep-deprived and depressed.
As a child, I tested at 116, but with average scores on most subtests but high results in processing speed, picture arrangement, arithmetic, and some unusal memory task, which pulled the overall score upward.

Since then, my cognitive functioning has declined massively, and my ADHD seems to worsen each year. I also used to have sleep apnea for years, which irreversibly damages your brain.

Yeah definitely, I’m still a University student and work a few part-time jobs.
I’m also scheduled for jaw surgery within the next year, and I’m dealing with a range of other health issues, most don’t even run in my family, a very aggressive chronic skin disease, class 3. malocclusion, foot deformities and hallux valgus, mild scoliosis, Balding (despite no one in my family being bald), Anemia, sleep apnea, ADHD, and more.
So, me being significantly less accomplished is also largely due to having had much more to deal with in life, while their biggest challenges have always revolved around their jobs or academic performance.

My twin-sister and I went to school together when we were younger. She was considered the best student our teacher had ever taught, while I was okay-ish.

116 is alright, but in terms of speed, focus, and memory, years of sleep deprivation and constant stress have taken a massive toll on my brain.
It feels like I can’t access my cognitive resources anymore. The things I used to excel in, like mental arithmetic, have gone to waste.
Also, an IQ test taken at age 8. isn’t the most reliable indicator of adult intelligence. For some people it stays fairly consistent, but there’s still a wide range of possible change.

Unlike my dad and sister, I am, and always was, extremely lazy, with not much of a performative drive. Even as a kid.
My dad works 24/7. He used to be very wealthy, but his life partially fell apart when my grandfather convinced him to go into business with several partners from abroad. It turned out to be a huge mistake. My grandfather wasted the borrowed money (millions) and went to prison.
That idiot even gave up his job as a doctor in the process. Some people will just never be satisfied, with what they have.

Because my dad was the manager of the company, he had to take responsibility and repay most of the people involved.
He had to cover deposits for several of my mom’s relatives, who were all involved as well.

Iq changes a lot with environent

A child who was raised by some crackwhore, then gets adopted by a upper middle class family will increase their iq substantially by the time they're an adult

Learning about how malleable IQ actually is has been very surprising, and makes me want to have a kid so I can make him into the braniac

"No breast milk until you solve this equation lil buddy"

"but he's just a bebeh!"

"Your slut mother needs to shut the fuck up! I wouldn't have to do any of this if she wasn't such a dumb bitch who needed to be compensated for!"
