I’ve only been here for about 100 posts, so I’m still a concidered as “grey” in the eyes of the forum. But I’ve spent a lot of time reading, lurking, and watching how this place actually works — and I want to share my honest take, especially for people who think this forum is just some toxic wasteland.

The Reputation vs. The Reality

From the outside, Looksmax.org gets called all kinds of things:

  • “Toxic incel pit”
  • “Super racist”
  • “Mental illness central”
And I get it — if you just scroll through a few out-of-context screenshots, it looks wild. Slurs, memes, brutal ratings. But that surface-level view misses what this place really is.

Why I Actually Like It Here

Here’s what I’ve experienced in my time here:

  • Rating threads? Mostly trolling. People post to farm reactions, and the replies are often jokes or roasts. You can’t take them seriously.
  • Other threads? Actually solid. People give legit advice — on jaw surgery, skincare, gym routines, psychology, and just real life problems. A lot of it is deeper than people expect.
But what I really like most is this:

This forum is one of the last places online where people are actually raw and unfiltered — and that’s a good thing.
There’s no fake positivity. No forced “body positivity” stuff. No fear of saying the wrong thing and getting banned. You can say what you mean — even if it’s edgy, dark, or controversial — and people will actually engage instead of pretending to be offended.

That kind of honesty is rare now, and I respect it.

On the Racism Accusation

Probably the biggest thing people say about .org is that it’s “racist.” My view?

Yes — slurs get thrown around.
Yes — race is discussed bluntly, sometimes in ways that would make most forums ban you on sight.

But 99% of the time, it’s:

  • Trolling
  • Jokes
  • Or just people being real in how they talk, without filters
Using a slur doesn’t automatically make someone racist. People use words here they’d never say in public, not because they hate anyone, but because this is a space where people drop the act. It's edgy, yeah — but not always hateful. And honestly, I enjoy that kind of openness.

I’m not racist — and I don’t think most people here are either. But I also don’t think people should have to censor every word just to avoid triggering someone online.

Why I’m Still Here (And Staying)

I like this forum because:

  • It’s not sanitized.
  • People are direct.
  • There’s no coddling or fake support culture.
  • You can actually say what you think without walking on eggshells.
Yeah, it can get dark. Some people take the blackpill way too far. But there’s also honesty here you won’t find anywhere else. It’s not always positive — but it’s real.

And that’s more valuable to me than fake “supportive” spaces that ban you for saying uncomfortable truths.

Final Thoughts

Looksmax.org isn’t for everyone — and I don’t think it’s trying to be.
But it’s not the mindless hatefest people think it is either. It’s a place where people can talk about appearance, life, and struggles without filters — and that kind of rawness is why I’ll keep coming back.

Just wanted to post this as someone who’s still fairly new but paying attention. Curious to hear how older users feel about it.
