I am 18 and need to get a job within the next 30 days or my parents will take everything

I'm fine with that tho since I was already planning on getting a job

Now I need to figure out which one would be the best for me

Like I said, I'm 18, but I have no formal work experience (I've dogsat for my neighbors, but no real "job")

Minimum wage where I am is $7.25 per hour, so I'd hope to get at least $15 an hour (preferably more, but it's wtv)

I want something chill where I don't have to talk to many people and can just do my job while listening to music

I also am NOT working any night shifts, since I value sleep heavily (as should all of you)

Please give recommendations if you have any :)

edit: i just graduated high school if that matters

i wouldnt get my hopes up on finding a 2x the min wage job with no experience or a qualification that you could get in less than 30 days

Have you put any thought into a career? Or do you want to be a $15/hr wagie your entire life?

not a lot of jobs come to mind where they let you do work by yourself, by description sounds like an office job which I dont think you can do at 18 with no prior experience

you could try asking for a job in the fire department for answering calls or something like that (depending on your area and how many people live there (how many fires happen)) can be a pretty chill job

or a warehouse

Dude $15/hr is literally subhuman tier wages unless he lives in the town of Bumfuckistan with a population of 100.

I’m 19 and my job while in community college is $23 + benefits

i mean basic grocery store jobs can start at like $13

i was just wondering if there was anything i didn't think of

i'll most likely just work at walmart or something since i'm pretty sure they start at $15

only problem is EVERYONE goes to walmart, so i'll see a bunch of people i know :feelswhy:

I'm not gonna get into the whole career thing here, but no I don't plan on being a wagie for life

It's just to have some cashflow while I'm in school + trying to find a way to make money online

If your parents are planning on kicking you out for not having a job but you’re in school planning a career they are actually subhuman

Fuck your parents, seriously

i have no idea about US wages bro
i just took what he said as baseline and simply put his expectation at 2x min wage

something like stocking shelves is kind of what i meant by being on my own

warehouses pay the best but i am NOT working at night + i've heard they fire people super often

no they aren't gonna kick me out, but they'll sell my pc + make me pay them $300 a month for rent + car insurance

only people who actually work minimum wage are 14 year olds and indians

i've heard kitchen work is super stressful

oh yea forgot about store jobs, but you could also be asked to work as cashier so you kinda have to interact with people then

where I live warehouse jobs never have nightshifts and idk about the firing im guessing you are from usa so it might be different especially with amazon

i'm pretty sure that if i apply to be a shelf stocker or something, they won't make me be a cashier

yeah no amazon has gotten in trouble for not allowing employees to use the bathroom and stuff :lul:

may be different than in my country, usually you can do both stocking and cashier if you are asked

and stay away from amazon for sure

bc u might have to do more than you applied for or busy hours?
mainly busy hours i guess

like being a cook would obviously be stressful for many reasons

and then being a dishwasher you're still gonna be bombarded with things to clean

lie about working in either famous chains like mcdonalds etc only if in us, uk, au otherwise lie about having worked in closed companies, usually closed companies almost deleted everything and are inactive, fake references use a voip or give someones number who'll glaze you to the manager in case they call, dont lie about certifications and stuff like that, ai cover letters are kind of presentation with who are you, what you can do and motivations of why you think you would be a good add to the company, resume and cv should be the same thing ig
