If you do both swimming and bodybuilding will you look better ? I am swimming twice a week , plus 3 days of strength training. But I'm in a caloric deficit. My ideal is to look like Robert Mitchum prime, deflated bodybuilder.

If you get too muscular you probably won't be a great swimmer either.

Probably some sort of crossfitter body, they do all sorts of varied exercises, but ultimately it will depend on your genetics...

im neutral in all beefs on this site however with that being said, to be the devils advocate his proportions are pretty good if he was lean i suppose he would look rather impressive
That's all hypothetical though. 45yrs and he has never been lean. He looks like a fat tub of vanilla ice cream.

I'm not 45 yet, and you don't seem to know as much as you think you do

I know you will ignore this, but for anyone else that cares, swimming is a horrible exercise to lose weight. Obviously you are too heavy to run, but you should be walking a few miles a day, and riding a bike a couple times a week.

Swimming by itself doesnt generate anything special

The swimmer atheles that some incel coper posted naturally are swimmers due to large torso, wing span and short legs

Its low impact and done not for weight loss but the fun of it
A 1 hour session of butterfly can lose 500-800 calories
A 1 hour session of running can lose 600 calories min. as long as you barely try (1000 being the upper limit)

True, swimming is just a form of cardio. Which is not to say it isn't good or useful.

Why would swimming be horrible? It works your entire body muscle groups, as well as boosts heart and lung capacity and endurance. I do about 40 laps in the pool- breast stroke mostly, but also side and some butterfly. I feel like it really makes up for it. I do bike riding but bike riding only works the legs. My legs are plenty big.

Running is the absolute worst exercise, IMO. You're pushing all your weight onto your bones on heavy pavement causing friction. Over time it wears you down. Oh, and it also doesn't burn nearly as many calories as you might think.

The benefits of running/walking have little to do with calories burned. The repeated impact is exactly why it is superior for weight loss. Your body's defense mechanism against the repeated impact it to release hormones that stop you from wanting to eat as much.

It surprises me how disinterested we are today about things like physics, space, the universe and philosophy of our existence, our purpose, our final destination. Its a crazy world out there. Be curious.

its overkill it wont do much for your body but it will do much for your brain if you care about that stuff
