He just looks wrong. He's deformed. People shouldn't look how he does.

Combined with the downgrown banana jaw it's just terrible. A part of me feels I look at least a bit better but another part of me thinks it's cope. In either case I am in the same bone ballpark as him and it just seems like such a perversion of how skulls should be formed.

Kek if you think he’s subhuman and doesn’t have massive appeal to women (inb4 muh just be a famous actor theorem) even without the fame, he would still have appeal to women

On a serious note @Lonenely sigma why doesn't gosling have the typical v-shaped anime jaw, can you analyze what exactly is it?

The whole is greater than the sum of his features. He has a pretty good general anatomy. That's what foids find appealing about him.

Still dont have any idea how he is deemed attractive, He doesnt even have high facial averageness which is the common reason for it in actors.

Because his chin height isn't coming from the fact he has an actually tall chin, but because he is downgrown:

He is also very recessed.

Using anime characters as examples, the following features make their jaws V-shaped (and good looking in general):

1) Dog-like forward growth, objectively necessary

2) Well separated pointy chin. Unlike Gosling's, their chins are well separated, well projected. Projection plays a major role here as well (this part is subjective to an extent)

3) Their occlusions are CCW rotated, but their gonial angles are high, not because they are downgrown but because their ramuses are short, or at least much shorter than their mandibles:

Screenshot 20250102 020556 Gallery

As you can see, her gonial region is very rounded but her mandible is very long.

4) Not related to the jaw directly but their zygos are very wide very often as well. That brings to V-shaped appearance too

Yeah true but btw i think anime characters have much more anterior forward growth than posterior (refering to giant implants thread, you can look up if you don't know what those mean as a term). Their splanchocranium doesn't seem that forward grown, idk might be wrong.

Gosling seems like he has a well projected chin though, it's not 'seperated' yeah i'm trying to see what causes it exactly. His mandible tapers to his chin uniformly in an oblong shape hmm. That's what i'm getting at.

Time to use DIE HITLERJUGEND as an example for my argument!

When I say downgrown, I mean it in the sense their OCCLUSIONS (AKA. position of their lower and upper jaws) are downgrown. You need a certain amount of downgrowth, but for each degree you add, your mandible needs to be longer, as otherwise you are gonna be recessed since your jaw faces more to the ground. These anine characters have high gonial angles and extreme forward growth.

Second of all, their gonial angles are even HIGHER than those of their occlusions, because their ramuses are short. This is what I mean when I say mandible lenght/ramus lenght.

I morphed these people to have long ramuses (thus lowering their mandible/ramus ratios) and they turned into blockheads:

I kinda ageee that its hypocritical of me to talk all negative about his chin bc like, yeah, he has much bigger problems than his chin. His chin is actually kinda good, at least for my personal aesthetic opinion.

So these are details. If he actually had everything else good on his skull, fixing the details on his chin would be relatively easy, if at all necessary

Oh ok so you're supposing gosling is recessed, but does that affect how his chin isn't anime character like? I don't think so

Although goslings mandible/chin is one of the most forward grown things about him

Yeah some ratios are off normal range maybe, but he mostly just looks like a normal dude. He looked almost exactly like some phenotype composite. Don't remember exactly which

Its kinda nitpicking but it comes down to soft tissue in his case tbf.

His chin is very... meaty? If that makes sense.

Exactly but why tf? What's the difference bone wise with him and orb in jaw, similar ratios

I mean, their bone structures are not thaaaat similar, but either way, it comes down to the amount of skin, soft tissue etc. Someone who has too much soft tissue and too little bonemass is gonna have that soft look.

Again, this is hardly the reason Orb and him look different, and hardly the reason Gosling looks bad, but yeah, I am pointing soft tissue out bc thats actually really difficult to fix if you don't plan to change bones. So idk what could be changed on Gosling's face in particular

I think short ramus is ideal

Me too. Long mandible and short ramus (ofc not too short) are ideal

Most people repeat muh long ramus this, long ramus that, but people they rate as beautiful actually have short ramuses lmao
