You see in Godfather where Michael emotes almost entirely through his eyes contra through gesticulations ,like say in later films like Scarface. He has some scleral show /drooppy undereyelids , high IPD , positive eyebrows , and dark eye colour. This is the perfect combination for that mysterious / unhinged look imo rather than hunter eye autism. The mix of intimidating features( brows ,eye colour, IPD), slightly bad features (like scleral show- which can be dreamy at times ) and some neotenous features(high pfh) is what makes his eye area unique and attractive.
Those features also suited his role perfectly as Michael was always lost in thought and intelligent ( more ruminating and cunning - associated w high IPD) ,
less social than say Sonny,
more idealistic ( for eg where he says they should take action against the policeman- that scleral show makes him less grounded in reality almost),
more impulsive ( eg where he hit Kathie or whatever his American wife was named ),
more cold hearted ( ordering fredos execution - brows and dark eyes) etc.
If he had a normal eye area he would lose half of his persona in that movie and I don’t mean normal to imply that he had a bad eye area , it was just.. a bit different.
