What makes people act like this?

Today I was walking out of my college campus in winter weather, minding my own business. I was dressed normally (red scarf, black leather jacket w hoodie, cat boots, backpack) and walking at a relaxed pace.

A guy was standing in the middle of the sidewalk putting on gloves and blocking the whole path. I moved slightly into the street to pass him, and as I passed he shouted loud “HEY why are you walking like a cowboy Walk slowly” I looked at him and just kept walking.

After that when I was almost home, a car slowed down almost stopping near me and honked repeatedly at me with low honks, even though I wasn’t doing anything unusual.

I didn’t interact, react, or look at anyone. I was just walking.

I’m genuinely curious wtf makes people feel the need to comment on or provoke random strangers who aren’t bothering anyone? I'd appreciate any insight

I hope so, I don't think they'd be drunk or on drugs but there was some police officers running exactly where I was walking earlier in the morning too

just a crazy ah day doesnt feel real

exactly what I thought, it has to be something with my middle part or straight medium-length hair maybe

in the wind it kind of gets in my face and its an unusual look so maybe bc i dont look normal idk
