What one-itis is (and why it largely only affects men)

One-itis is the phenomenon where you're hyper-focused on one specific crush/partner (and you don't want to be with anyone else)

As for why it's mainly men who are prone to developing one-itis?

Because of how easy it is for a foid to find a partner. If it doesn't work out with a foid's crush/partner, it's no big deal. The foid could always get another guy with little to no effort.

On the other hand, a lot of men have an extremely hard time finding a partner. That's why it's extremely important to us that it works out with our crush/partner.

There's that Taking Back Sunday song Cute Without The E where they sing

"Why can't I feel anything for anyone other than you?"

There's a reason a female vocalist will never sing a song like that.

Even Taylor Swift's songs are about her plethora of men she's broken up with; not about one specific man. Taylor Swift, being a foid, has abundance.
