What should I look out for when I get an MSE/MARPE?

I'm getting palatal expansion after a hard battle of convincing both my dentist and orthodontist claiming it'll help me breathe (jfl I just want aesthetics)

Anything I should look out for? What are some major drawbacks? Is it worth it?

One thing to note is that I don't have any major occlusion in my teeth as they're quite good except for one incisor which is ever so slightly out of line.

asymmetry, big chance of fucking up ur harmony if ur palate is already decently wide, and in a lot of cases it may not be worth it. that one jawhacks dude just looks uncanny now imo and looked way better before he got mse or whatever for the second time

i mean another major reason for as to why I want it is that I found this study that showed how some 18yo athlete had a 31% increase in his respiratory quality due to getting an MSE

my cheekbones are already slightly asymmetric, do you think it'd accentuate that assymetry?
