If i got the worst skin habits and some acne on my face do i do tret/taz or do i start slow

for me, I mostly just try not to touch my face and just wash it consistently. I am also 18 now but I had pretty bad acne in 8th grade. Facial cleanser don't really make much of a difference for acne in my experience but they do make your skin quality and clarity much better.
