Like for example, join them, chat a little with them, make sure you say something memorable, like a joke, an interesting story, or share your world/political views with them, leave your coat there with the recording device and go to the bathroom. It's very likely they will immediately chat about you, and after you return you can check the recording and see what they really think about you...
