So for all the oldcels here
How was life prior to dating apps, social media and the internet as a whole

Was dating easier, was life better, were experiences more meaningful in a sense?
or was everything pretty much the same

Because i think alot of modern day isolation and inceldom can be attributed to the widespread usage of tech and media

I'm a very elderly man of 26 years a legendary incel kkhv
I would say blaming social media for yout problems is cope as I grew up with out it and it didn't help

In fact the rules of dating are the same in the online world as they are in the irl
Chad and htns always win while sub5s are simps and loser

I'm 28 year old grandad. Tbh online dating scene was a thing prior to Tinder - Tinder took it mainstream, simplified and gamified it and degeneracy and simp behaviour spread like wildfire.

However online dating - oldcels here will remember things like match.com and eHarmony. These kinds of website was seen as something for losers, nerds and people too ugly to get a date IRL. Most people still dated IRL and social circlemaxing.

In regards to other aspects of social media, I can remember Bebo. That was the shit before FB and insta. Even Myspace lmao - that actually still exists. But these websites were just precursors and people used them for fun. The development of the internet has went hand in hand with development of social media. One thing I would say is that people didn't have unrealistic standards and people's Instagram in 2022 Vs people's Bebo profile in 2005 were very different things.

Toktok seems like the worst all out there. Can anything be worse?

True partially. But women couldn't endlessly choose from 1000s of men.

Can confirm.

I was using OKcupid and you were almost afraid to talking about it to not look desperate.
Also these apps were made for relationships, OKcupid even had personality tests to match you with "similar" women
Now dating apps are mostly for sex, no one reads bios, they mass swipe, everyone has tried it at least once etc

People sat on their ass watching television way more than they do now, but there was more of a stigma against them than people who spend most of their time on the internet. Easygoing is a good word to describe dating. As long as you weren't a complete retard you were in like Flynn. Persistence paid off more too back in the 90's. People were more inclined to spend time with other people that they didn't necessarily like because of no internet. Imagine there's not internet or phones and you don't like television. What do you do after getting home from work every day at 5:30? You're gonna find people to hang out with.

it was like butterflies and unicorns

It was so much better, but you were massively limited to social circle and immediate geographic region. Then Tinder from 2012 to 2014 was the only time men had it how women currently do (even then it was still not that easy). After that it was completely over

Ok so I'm an oldcel, when tinder came out I was already in my mid to late 20s.

World was generally different, if you could talk, dressed decent, had hobbies, and went out you could easily talk to girls, you could get a number etc.

Getting a gf was v easy, and generally you could get your looksmatch or even a point higher.

Clout wasn't a thing.

People went out loads more, and were more social. There were outcasts but they tended to fall into certain traits.

Bottom 20% facially
Balding
Bottom 20% physique wise

These outcasts would still socialise, but less, and with other outcasts, and when u saw them in a corner in a pub, you would not be disrespectful.

Noticeably race, height, money did not matter, and according to this forum they are deal breakers now.

Back then, If ur ethnic but GL, then ur just exotic and need to match the right vibe.

If your short, you need to be NT and understand human psychology and how to laugh and not to laugh at your height.

If your broke it's ok, broke girls will go for you.
