When I tell people I’m mexican they usually don’t believe me i also have mostly Italian ancestry. So it depends

I think whiteness is variable if you aren't British or Nordic. Like Italians were considered ethnics and not white in America for a period, and some people don't consider slavs white (I make no call on whiteness, just using as an example.)
