Thanks broYou would just be sore and not build any muscle. The body might try to elevate some growth factors to compensate and help preserve the muscle that's needed, because they wouldn't be beat up if it was dead weight. The muscles you aren't working out will probably degrade faster

Nice, pretty much what I thought. I eat way more and am finally seeing some gains after months, but was just wonering theoretically.5g protein daily is really small
either (a) you are eating waay below maintenance or (b) you are eating at or above maintenance but with foods that are entirely carb/fat jfl
for (a) your workouts would feel like shit and you would lose both fat and existing muscle
for (b) youd be bloated af and any progress in the gym would be considerably hampered
