I see this phrase all the time, for example about a 29 year old dating a 21 year old.

Certainly an American 29 year old has more common with a 21 year old American than he has with a 29 year old woman from rural Peru, but that is somehow more okay?

What is even the criteria for having things in common? Sure, she's in college and he probably has a job, but what does that have to do with compatability? They're not living in completely different worlds.

Why do they have to have something in common? They’re not friends. They are in a sexual relationship

What does a 5’2” girl have in common with a 6’3” rich chad? Absolutely nothing. Why is age the only equivalency that needs to be met? Sounds like a bullshit rule that only serves women.
