You are not who you think you are
Not in some spiritual way. Just literally.
Everything you call your "personality" your confidence, your humor, your values, how you carry yourself none of it came from you. It came from your circumstances. The people around you, the rejections you faced, the validation you got, the environment that shaped you since birth.
You didn't build yourself. You were built.
And if you sit with that long enough, something weird happens you start to notice there's something underneath all of it. Something that just... watches. An observer living a subjective experience. Aware, but not quite identical to the personality wearing its face.
But think about it.
What if you woke up tomorrow deformed?
Same awareness. Same observer inside. But everything that built "you" gone. The way people treat you, the confidence that came from it, the identity you constructed around being seen a certain way completely inverted overnight.
Who are you then?
You'd be the same watcher. But the entire movie would change.
Hwo would you deal with it?.
That's just terrifying atelast for me
Because it means the "you" you defend, perform and protect every single day was never really load-bearing. It was always just a response to your surroundings.
The self isn't solid. It's just the shape water takes in whatever container it's poured into.
What do you think about it? @Master
