Finasteride is the drug which is actually trying to solve the problem (by inhibiting 5ar enzymes and thus lowering DHT), minoxidil is a nice add on to the stack which is going to promote the anagen phase of the hair (I can make it seem like you have more hair because it increases the thickness of them). Ideally you should take both, but I for some reason you want to take just one of the you should definitely choose finasteride. Also I recommend if your are going to use minoxidil to use it topically because the oral one can create heart issues. With that being said before you take anything do your research because you clearly haven't done that yet
