Pedantic, but probably taz. Seems more selective. Either or are brilliant.

Taz is a newer generation retinoid, so I'll go with that. I know that it has a shorter purge phase, not as irritating, etc. I'm not sure on if it's more effective.

The fact it’s more selective is what makes it more appealing. AFAIK, effectiveness appears equivalent as far as noticeability cares.

Taz. Not even close. More potent than tret and less irritating

Trets generally considered better bc of its extensive long term clinical evidence showing improvements in fine lines, wrinkles and skin texture. Althought taz’s more potent and might bring faster results, it also comes with a higher risk of irritation so while taz might work more aggressively, tret is more widely studied, better tolerated for long term use and has FDA approval specifically for photoaging treatment (Ref: FDA label for Renova/tretinoin, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2001 if u don’t believe me).
