Sup everyone. I’m curious for anyone who’s knowledgeable in this subject, what your opinion is on Post-Accutane Syndrome(PAS). I’ve done some digging but really only find Reddit anecdotes. That tells me 2 things-we haven’t had enough research or true clinical trials to look at this, or it’s another Reddit delusion from that echo chamber cesspool. Go on r/tressless and look at the people talking about finasteride symptoms. Anyways, I’m curious what any of you think. I’ve seen a couple high IQ Reddit posts someone did on the literature and it seems like you can reverse it by taking something called lithium. So I suppose even if you do get it you just take that shit.

They're due to high doses in a short timespan, in order to mitigate those sides you need to microdose for years long as I'm doing rn

And guess what!! I am right

Fifty-two patients (7.2%) reported persistent symptoms during the follow-up period. No correlation was found between age, sex, cumulative dose, or number of courses of isotretinoin and occurrence of reported possible side-effects. The reported symptoms were predominantly musculoskeletal (2%) or mucocutaneous (4.8%), and were mild in all cases. Xeroderma, dry eye syndrome, arthralgia, and possible exacerbation of eczema, were considered to be infrequent but probable long-term side-effects. The findings of this study indicate that isotretinoin in the treatment of acne is a safe drug, with no serious long-term side-effects.

7% of the 720 people got long term symptoms, and they were mild

Now thinking about it

@Hexmask do you mean post accutane = sexual side effects or generally all long term side effects?

I guess I’m referring more so to the sexual sides cause that’s what most guys would care about but yes. I’ve seen people complain of hair loss or thinning continue well after discontinuing.

Honestly I believe this, I kinda made this post because in the past I was doing 10mg daily sometimes 20 and I was considering getting back on but doing like 10mg EOD. That would still probably keep me clear with very minimal to no sides.

Yes accutane side effects are dose dependent
How bigger the dose = how worse, and more the side effects are

Yes , accutane cause temporary hair-loss and change of hair structure (this side effects are also dose dependent)

This side effects should all be gone when you stop using it (Ofcourse some redditor gonna say this side effects are forever…..)

Accutane also make you hair dry, so use a moisturizer

I never heard of accutane causing sexual side effects

This scoping review revealed very weak evidence supporting a link between isotretinoin and sexual dysfunction. Notably, the diverse definitions of sexual dysfunction pose a significant challenge for comparative analysis. The authors advocate for a standardized definition of sexual dysfunction and a framework for determining causality in order to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between isotretinoin and sexual dysfunction.
The scientific evidence is very weak

Does he really? I hear a ton of celebs/actors do like 10-20mg a week because it has big anti aging effects too and keeps you clear so it’s a low maintenance skin routine

Do you think 10mg for 6 months is hair loss safe ? Seems really low to me

do you have really bad acne ? 40mg is absolutely enough
it was pretty bad but not like VERY bad, what even are the side effects of high dose accutane during puberty
