There's a pride parade every year in the capital - it's heavily protected by the police and special forces because there's usually at the same time an anti-gay parade and protest. Back in the old days, the cops used to beat the crap out of gays, they hated gays, many still do, but they are now forced to march with them to provide protection, it must be so humiliating to them...
