Yes, that’s true. You need to win three matches (doesn’t have to be in a row, you can lose in-between as well) to advance into the C-rank. Then you need to win six matches to advance into the B-rank, and then you need to win nine matches to advance into the A-rank. Something like that. At any point, however, you can decide to go pro. The difference between pro and am is that with amateur boxing, you have smaller rounds and with professional boxing, you have bigger rounds. That’s why my friend wants to stick to am boxing.
