What’s the best distance between you and the mirror?

I look better if i’m standing 1,5-2 meters (~6-8ft) away from the mirror.

When i’m closer than that my face looks narrower, shorter, more bloated etc.

Overall the proportions and harmony look worse
Why is this and what is the ideal distance between you and the mirror?
