It's supposed to be really popular there, I remember reading an article like 15-20 years ago, when it was still kinda taboo in the west, that anal sex is really popular in Brazil. 10% of the western couples would regularly do it, while in Brazil the percentage was 50%, I don't know what the numbers are these days...
