I've read the book when it first appeared and I've found some parts of it suspicious. For example he travels with Mystery to Eastern Europe and they start banging girls left and right. Eastern Europe is presented like this primitive, no man's land, with no laws, no prisons, and where Mystery's stage magic performances in various clubs are believed by the locals to be real displays of supernatural powers.
I'm from Eastern Europe and I can tell you that many things he described there are simply bullshit.
BTW, Neil Strauss is a ghost writer, he wrote biographies for various celebrities and these kind of books are notorious for exaggerating and embellishing facts or even inventing whole stories or facts.

The problem with PUA is that these gurus only use the "Get girls with these tricks" to attract subhumans, then they pretend that the reason why they don't get girls is because they lack the "alpha personality" so they change the focus of their service.

"We won't help you get girls anymore, we'll help you to be an alpha"

So when they approach and get rejected 99% of the time, it's no longer a failure of the method, because it's not about getting girls, it's about "taking action and being alpha" even if you get rejected, at least now you're confident

Whenever I stumble upon someone like that WIA character, I always wonder what his deal is. Like, he isn't selling coaching or bootcamps etc. So what is his 'angle'?
