Acne is usually caused by pores filled with dirt and excess sebum or dietary choices and result in red, pus-filled spots whereas hyperpigmentation scars are the aftermath of acne and change the texture of the skin where the acne has healed resulting in brown spots and rough patches of skin. It’s not a big deal though, the hyperpigmentation often goes away naturally after sometime.

Shit. I have red hyperigmentation then I think. My scars look like acne, but there's no pus and they are kinda rough. Also some have been on my skin for very long.

I’d recommend using 5% benzoyl peroxide with a skincare routine. If you don’t have one already hmu, it’s what got rid of my hyperpigmentation and acne .

There are two types of post acne marks , one is called PIE post inflammatory erythrema and another is called PIH post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation.

PIE leaves a red mark because of the dilated blood vessels and is common on people with fair skin that takes years to go away and can only be treated through VBEAM laser which i have personally used and it works but u need multiple sessions it costs around 200-300 i think.

PIH are dark brown spots with melanin And is common on darker people which are easier to treat than PIE and can be removed through brightening creams like hydroquinone and exfoliation creams.
