There is nothing bad in braces both in and after puberty, if before wearing them you expand you narrow palate with SARPE/MARPE/FME. In this case your maxilla will not be recessed and you will get the result you need

i got no recession or narrow palate, just looking to correct misplaced midline hoping it corrects lower third assymetry

It depends on how bad is your misplaced midline. In some cases braces would fix the problem, but there are cases when you would need some kind of surgery, depending on problem (upper or lower jaw)
