Like 10% of the population who has a phone, housing can send their children to private schools etc and can live comfortably has access to jobs etc

On paper it does exist. But the real middle class in curryland is poor. The middle class of urban India starts at top 10% of wealth. I was in denial about this a few years back but when I did the math it was clear to me i was born into privilege. Upper middle class to now firmly in the rich category.
