@RealSurgerymax

You said ~8mm but thats far less than what I expected, since I also need a vertical increase.

My problem is actually my chin and not the rest of my mandible

Is 10mm forwards and 6mm downwards possible?

You likely need a mini chin wing for that much movement though

Too far forward and it might stick out awkwardly.

I obviously included grafting in the calculation

Where are you getting 10mm from? Why do you want 10mm specifically when giant says otherwise?

How are you doing these calculations?

He said 10mm is the higher limit of advancement. He was talking about the anterior advancement.

The fact of the matter is that I also do need vertical increase of ~6mm. Both of these are commonly performed; its just the matter of if you can perform them together.

I determined the amount needed by using a ruler and estimating from that. Obv even less than 10mm would improve my situation by a lot, but pushing even more would be better

14mm is the max any surgeon will go
8 is the lower limit
10-12 is easy and most would do it
genio mogs any other surgery for chin tbh

14mm combined or advancement? So, if I want 6 to the height, 8 is an anterior maximum?

Advancement
You can get 14mm horizontal advancent and rest vertical too but very few do it
10-12 mm horizontal advancement is done by almost everyone

Can you just answer me to this one question since I really never get a straight answer: does the amount of vertical height increase limit the amount of advancement?

I've seen RSM talk about a chin implant for instance. He said 12mm combined is an advisable max. The fact he said combined makes me wonder if genio is viewed in the same manner.

It would make sense bc by increasing the height you also need more bone grafts to fill that void, right?
