This isn’t the only example, I’ve seen whites chimp out over black representation in Japanese Media, even being more vocal about it than Japanese themselves. It's less an appreciation of Japan and more to do with the fact that they see it as an ethno-nationalist model to be emulated

Also, OP, Japs are pretty admirable

They are the only non-white country besides Canindia in the top 10 countries with most nobel laureates.

They have contributed a lot to tech as well. The guy who invented the blue LED was a jap for example.

I view japan as a mostly isolated and irrelevant country, yet Japanese inventors come up quite a bit when I read about tech. So many big tech companies are japanese as well.

Though, I doubt this is the reason sfcels like japs, because even more nobel laureates have been jews and we all know how sfcels feel about them.

Like I said, it's not about Japanese tradition or culture, they admire the fact that Japan has managed to retain its national identity - even if it's come at a tremendous long term demographic cost.
