There is no one solution because humans are very varied in their thinking and spirit, this is why so many different philosophies and religions exist. What ideology and philosophy you believe is largely determined by inherent qualities in you. Some have no ideology or philosophy at in contrast.
Ultimately I believe future will be more similar to Highlander movie than anything else that I can think of right now.
