It seems like you're mostly into fun slasher movies, not necessarily horror, so I'd recommend Fresh and vicious fun as a light watch, The Night House and Watcher are something more gloomy

I watched Scream together with my brother at the movie theater, they screened it in 2016 for the 20th anniversary. Normally my brother’s a genius and can figure out plot twists easily but he was completely wrong about Scream. My favorite horror movie…? Too many to name. But Scream is among them. Other worthy mentions: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Freddy Vs Jason and movies like The Ring and The Grudge. Scream 2 and Scream 3 as great as well, even though horror fans don’t seem to like it. Scream 4 was the last good Scream movie in my opinion. There’s going to be Scream 7 in the future as well but since I didn’t like Scream 5 and Scream 6, I don’t see why I would like Scream 7.

Funnily enough, I hated the Texas Chainsaw Massacre because I didn’t like the premise but eventually I got into this franchise as well. Another movie and franchise I felt the same way about is the Hellraiser franchise. The first few movies, especially the sequel, were the best and the later movies were basically scripts for other movies that they added Hellraiser elements into, but they’re still decent enough to watch for me.

Good times, brother. It was definitely fun and we should do it again sometime soon. We should watch Scream 2 next whenever you got time. The reason I say we should watch Scream 2, 3 and 4 first is because there’s elements of continuity that would otherwise spoil the earlier movies for you.

I should watch The Village, but I already know the plot twist. Brootal. I’ll still watch it for Adrien Brody. :feelsautistic:

idont watch horror movies they scare me

All overrated

I felt like this one was way too hyped up. :feelswhere:
The fan base grew drastically after everyone started making those disturbing breakdown videos of it. My favorite horror is between Martyrs (2008) and 28 days later.

28 Days Later I enjoyed, Martyrs I enjoyed until the second half. My friend keeps caging at 28 Weeks Later with the opening scene. It’s unintentional but peak comedy. There’s a sequel coming last I heard. Any other honorable mentions?

Looking forward to it my dear brother! Sounds good, we also need to find a time that’s suitable for us both. Damn these time zone differences. :feelsbadman:

What about you?
Which Amityville Horror did you watch? I watched and enjoyed all the movies you mentioned. As well as the movies that OP mentioned, but you don’t seem to like them.

Let me guess, headbanging scene? That creeped me out too.

Haven’t watched Begotten because I’m not interested in experimental movies like that, and A Serbian Film isn’t a horror film as it’s more of a social commentary. The subject matter, however, is grotesque.

120 Days of Sodom is an honorable mention for me but I don't think you'll enjoy that one. It happens to be apart of the horror genre but it's more disturbing and gross to the audience than scary.

The one from 2005, only because i saw it in 2010 and it gives me nostalgia.

I can’t watch Scream, because Scary Movie 1 ruined it for me tbh.

If you want real horror, you should experience it yourself, go to lost places or forests at night, 100 times better than watching some fake shit on TV

Ahhh, yes I’ve dabbled into the disturbing genre before but can’t say I’m a fan. You might like L’interieur, it’s a 2007 French horror movie and it’s a part of the extreme French wave as they called it. I’ve also watched movies like I Spit on Your Grave (yes, all of them), A Serbian Film, etc. The only one I refused to watch was Grotesque (2009) because it offers no substance. It’s just a pure torture porn flick and I don’t like those, that’s kind of why I didn’t like Martyrs (2008) but why I did like Martyrs (2015).

With Ryan Reynolds, right? That one made me practically immune to jump scares haha, I remember watching it on my PSP back in 2009. Too bad Scary Movie ruined Scream for you, it’s one of the best horror movies out there. As far as American horror goes, anyway. But you’re right, exploring the forest at night sounds like a rad idea. Unfortunately I live in a concrete jungle.

That one made me practically immune to jump scares haha,
When i was a kid, i saw it with my siblings at night with all lights off and all run away at the bathroom jump scare scene, but my sleeve got caught on the door handle and i just stood there screaming, unable to leave, while everyone else already left the room
