Being socially maladapted is even less of an envious spot. Would rather be a quintessence of a "normie", than whatever the hell the fringes of society consider approving.

It depends. Pure male variability explains most of the situation and that can result in either extremely adaptive or maladaptive traits which increase or decrease fitnesses massively, both will lead to being non NT but may lead to vastly different subjective outcomes.
Tbf this isn't a great term as I don't believe in the soul so disregard that but what we usually are referring to when we refer to the "soul" is a lowered sensitivity to your own experience. Consider there are really people out there who lack or have severely diminished internal representations or the ability to think of second or third order consequences or are so automatically inhibited by the threat of danger that they have never considered questioning the status quo and blindly accept every narrative foisted upon them. These people may not be experiencing anything negative subjectively but it does genuinely seem that there are real sacrifices being made here to account for that.

Yes but also after a while you forget what that feels like such that you may not even miss it or feel deprived. I know this is true for me and many normie emotional narratives. The idea of "family" for example. I get it, I know the feeling and I know how deeply satisfying it can be and how empty certain things can feel without it, but despite all of that, it's just not something that moves to any significant degree. Am I being deprived? Maybe, maybe the average person is being deprived of a feeling of true emotional independence. It's very relative.
I guess it depends on the individual. I think a lot but I've found I've been able to moderate my thinking to a point where it doesn't feel debilitating like it once did. That took conscious effort. If you can achieve that then problem solved, but maybe you think more than I do or aren't so disposed towards non verbal processing.

I also sometimes feel this way but not often. Sometimes I do feel envious of the ignorance. There's a pro call of duty mobile player that I occasionally like to watch and it's just the most NT of NT careers, making money playing some ADHD mobile game. I used to like the game but it's just unplayable when you really realize what's going on, how they subtly and not so subtly manipulate things to get people to spend money. The game has only gotten worse with time but if you're ignorant it's some of the best fun you can have. You would think after 7 years of engaging with an obvious scam he would either get bored or find something less superficial to devote his life to, but he's done it and you can tell he's really having fun. That loop is hyper stimulating, perhaps one of the most stimulating things I've ever interacted with, and I think how nice it would be to actually get lost in it like he has, but I can't. I want to look at his choice of profession and feel some superiority over him. It would be so easy to. After all he's literally devoted his life to playing some scam mobile game, yet I don't. I don't feel any foothold above him despite how logically empty that path seems to be, in reality is more than sufficient if you can actually pull it off.
