I can handle extremely important/impactful social situations almost perfectly, but with friends I get really nervous and tense sometimes.
Why does this happen

It’s cause of that emotional connection. Become like my father and be so apathetic to the point where people question if you’re a psychopath

Mom thinks I am incapable of feeling empathy for people, for some reason. Im a caring person and I think im pretty nice

That actually makes a lot of sense even if it seems counterintuitive In high stakes or formal situations, the rule sntend to be clearer you know what’s expected, and there’s often a kind of script to follow. In those moments, adrenaline can sharpen your focus and help you perform well.
With friends though things are more personal There’s more emotional investment and the stakes are about connection rather than performance. You might subconsciously feel more vulnerable, worrying about judgment or rejection from the people you care about most + the rules in casual social situations are often unspoken and fluid, which can create uncertainty

why did she say that
Idk, I spent most of my life being a pussy so when I started to inly care about things that actually mattered she saw the change as me losing the ability to feel empathy instead of just not caring abt stupid shit anymore

I don't think empathy exists anymore, tbh. The majority of the population doesn't give a fuck if anyone lives or dies unless it effects themself. Anyone would fuck someone over if it would drastically improve their own life. The entire internet is filled with people who insult your entire being without giving a single fuck how it effects you. Probably like 90% of the population are psychopaths atp.
