i keep overhearing these conversations irl and i m really tempted to ask them if they are joking. people are so brainwashed into this being THE shit and the ultimate indicator of having a fun life (because the average person lives a boring, unfulfilling existence) that they'll genuinely pester others with banal stuff like having to wait in the line for something for hours because it's soooo popular, and presenting that story as some unique experience everyone should be in awe of, like you discovered a new planet
