Everyone always thinks you should be using your brain or trying to grind and work your way up

People probably assume I’m a set 4 ahh student cos I’m working a job that one could get with just GCSEs

But I did well at school. Got A*A*A in A-levels (fraudulent 2021 Covid exams, but I would’ve done well anyway)

But I’m happy in my current job. It’s social, which I didn’t think I would like before working, but it’s good. I had a different role with this company, which I didn’t like, but I like my current gig. It’s chill, social, and low stress

So what is the incentive for me to give this up to enter a different field, which will likely just be more stressful and less chill?

you’re still a wageslave at the end of the day. your boss and company own your time. If you want take time off to even go to a doctors appt, you need another man’s permission. If your boss says sit you sit and if he says bark you bark.

You should be using your brain to learn skills so you can earn back your freedom. Not everyone thinks like this though and plenty are content working under someone else’s thumb.

only to please others and improve status, but i dont understand why anyone would change what they're doing if they're happy doing it

nothing wrong with that. But I think if you have the capability to get good grades, you have the capability to make decent amounts of money online.

In my mother tongue there's a poem

A tiger is not born to graze in quiet pastures, clad in the soft wool of sheep.

It may live longer behind the fence,
belly full of grass and lullabies,
but its heart will starve in silence,
claws aching for the tear of flesh,
lungs craving the wild roar that splits the night.

A storm was never meant to whisper.
It can be tamed into harmless rain,
pattering politely on rooftops,
yet inside its chest the thunder still coils, begging to shatter the sky and remind the world
it was forged for fury, not for calm.

Do not ask the fire to be ash while it still burns.
Do not cage the ocean and call it a pond.
Better to die roaring, blood on your fangs,
than live a thousand safe years
as something you were never meant to be.

I don’t believe career advancement is what people truly desire though. I think it’s an idea that has been pushed onto them and what they think will impress others

I don't work at all so not one to talk about what you should be doing but ideally you would find a job with those same attributes that earns you more money with your degree. And I think stats show university educated peoples wages are growing when adjusted whereas working classes are stagnant

Well in my particular field that is tech. lot of the career advancement isn't even about impressing others. It's more about survival. Tech industry moves at warp speed that if you don't keep up, you get left behind. So climbing the ladder isn't some ego trip it's literally staying relevant to not get automated or outsourced. Also many people genuinely love doing this shit. Tech at its heart is just problem solving

I worked rotation shifts in metal its shit work and ur exhausted but at the end of the day you feel like you have done sth. I feel like having a proper job with a real outcome is what matters really. These are the best people they are honest dont have to fake anything its not about having to suck up or shit you just do your job and joke around. In office etc its all retarded cocksucker pussies in the end but thats the job that you can do until your 60 and actually make money so its what im shooting for now wiht cs bachelor soon.
