I reckon something about my measurement is fishy.

How do you measure your bidelt? It’s well known you gotta measure it between the widest points of the shoulders.

If you take a tape, the one like this -


in order to measure the widest part you will have to curve the tape a little bit at the edges to reach the mid point of your inferior part of side delts, this is how I measured it, I mean my granny holding it in the back but yeah. Is this legit?

5'8, 25 inch bideltoid, 20-ish inch biacromial? I'm 16 turning 17 next month. Not trained in the slightest.

I measured my bideltoid by lining up the measuring tape against my shoulders reaching the peak width of my shoulders. Subtracting the factor of my back curve, could possibly be 22-23 inches, sounds way more fair to me.

Biacromial is when you measure the very top "end" of your shoulders, versus the bottom end which would be bideltoid.

Okay now i know youve measured wrong. In anthropometric studies they measure using calipers instead of a measuring tape. reason why is because using a measuring tape follows the curvature of your body which increases the measurement a lot more than it actually is. I know my measurement's and i have a 3 inch difference using a measuring tape compared to a similar method to calipers. Imma guess that your actually bideltoid and biacromial (clavicle for people that dont know) is probably around a 20 inch bideltoid width and 16 inch biacromial width as well. For the method i do and which is alot more accurate than using a measuring tape is by standing with my back against a wall and marking each of side of bideltoid/biacromial and then measuring the distance between each mark. This is accurate because its your actual width.

6'1 with ~17,5-18inch biacromial with 20,5ish bideltoid, I'm skinny and untrained so I'm kinda narrow
